OUR FOOD MAKES A DIFFERENCE

lockdown beginning 5th january 2021

In response to the latest government restrictions and the level of numbers of cases in Norfolk, we have taken the decision to close our cafe and catering services for the time being. We have also made the really difficult decision to postpone our work experience project and our Bloom Project. We feel it is the safest thing to do in the current circumstances.

We are still accepting referrals onto our programmes, however start dates will be postponed until things are safer and we will support the client over the telephone and with online workshops in the meantime.

Our New Leaf project is still fully operational. If you have a client with an offence history, who needs support with employment advice and guidance, please email hollie@thefeed.org.uk

There are still ways that you can support The Feed during this difficult time. You can make a donation, either to our Pay it Forward scheme or to enable us to continue our work experience programme after lockdown, by following the Virgin Money Giving link below.

Our Community Fridge remains fully operational, Monday to Friday, 2pm till 4pm. If you have any food that you would like to donate, please get in touch via email or on one of our social media accounts. Or if you have need of food, please just some down during our opening hours, bring a bag and please wear a mask.

Thank you for all the incredible support, you are helping us change even more lives in our Fine City 😊 x

Changing lives in norwich

The Feed is a not for profit social enterprise and charity providing catering services.

Our social purpose is to prevent poverty, hunger and homelessness in Norwich.

We provide supported work experience within our social café and catering enterprise to people who face a barrier to employment. We work with people who have been at risk of homelessness, had mental health problems, addiction issues, an offence history, or other major barriers.

We use food as a catalyst to motivate change, improve confidence and self belief and gain the employment skills they need to move forward into a more fulfilling life.

All profits from our catering business and social café support our purpose.

In 2018, we opened a training centre and cafe at Prince of Wales Road. We also run our busy catering enterprise from here, delivering delicious food to the lovely people of Norwich.

In the last 12 months we have worked with partners to develop a Sustainable Food Strategy for Norwich, producing a Food Poverty Action Plan for Norwich.

We are a founding partner of the Pathways Norwich rough sleeping outreach service, a consortium of organisations and charities in Norwich working together to address the issue of rough sleeping in Norwich.
