We asked her some questions in September 2023 to get to know her better.

How long have you worked for The Feed?

I have worked for The Feed since February 2023, joining as the Community & Café Manager. I then became Hub Manager for the whole venue (the Supermarket & Café) in June.

Tell us about your role

My role involves keeping the shop stocked up, working with suppliers and outside organisations to ensure a good variety of events, drop in services and low-cost food.

On a day-to-day basis I interact with the customers as much as possible, listening to their needs and doing my best to make sure everyone feels welcomed and safe here but also making sure people leave with a belly or bag full of food and a big smile on their faces.

I work alongside our fantastic team of volunteers to support them with deliveries, customer service and general daily duties required for us to run efficiently.

What do you like about your job?

The best part of my role is the member interactions. Knowing that everything I do makes a difference in someone's life. Whether that is because they have been able to afford their groceries this week, pay a bill with less worry or just making their day a little better by offering kindness and compassion alongside a little joke here and there. I feel very proud of my team when we hear things like "This is my safe space".

What's your favourite food in our cafes or on our catering menu?

My favourite items are probably a flavoured coffee and a sausage roll from The Feed's REST café on Bethel Street or our one in Waterloo Park. I don't often get the chance to eat out there, but I try my best to make sure I get one of these lovely coffees as often as possible.

What would be your dream meal?

I would eat with an inspirational woman like Anne Frank or Rosa Parks; I think the conversation would be fascinating and I would love to absorb some of their knowledge and courage!

We would have to eat my mum's special Greek Stew, she wasn't from Greece, but she picked up a recipe somewhere and made it magical. I haven't had it for many years, but I can still taste it when I think about it. We would eat outside, on a bench by the river, with salad, sunshine and music in the background.

How do you relax?

I found this a tough question...what is relaxing?!

I spend time with my loved ones, my two beautiful children and my friends. We love the summer nights for a dip in the river or a muddy wet walk in the winter.

My biggest passion aside from my children and my job is true crime. I spend most nights watching crime related TV programmes with my teenage daughter, she's caught the bug off me and its a shared hobby now.

Any event where you need food use the Feed. It's amazing and everyone is always impressed.
