Case Study: How our Bloom project helped Sam

Bloom is our project for women to improve their wellbeing and provide new skills. It runs as a weekly session over 12 weeks.

How did Sam get involved?

Sam heard about Bloom from her Support Worker and decided that it sounded interesting so got in touch with us. She had been unemployed for a year but prior to that had worked in a range of roles including over 20 years in the support sector as well as admin and hospitality roles.

What did she want to achieve?

When her place was confirmed, Sam explained her goals were to gain confidence and learn new skills. As she progressed through the weekly sessions our team could see Sam's passion for people and for food, two things at the heart of our organisation.

What were the outcomes?

At the end of the Bloom course we could see Sam had achieved what she hoped for with improved confidence and was ready to take the next step into finding a job. Her skillset suited what we do and we made her aware of the new cafe we were opening at Kettle Foods for their staff. Sam secured a role in our team there and has been in place for several months. She now has sustainable employment, reduced isolation and improved wellbeing. As she puts it "You have helped me find my inner smile that had been buried for safety. I now just want to continue to shine."

You have helped me find my inner smile that had been buried for safety. I now just want to continue to shine.
